Barcelona Baby!!!

After some stressful travel, we were excited to finally be in Barcelona.

We decided to stay in a hostel which was definitely an experience. We booked an all female room and we were VERY glad about that. So we shared a room filled with bunk beds with 12 other girls from various countries, speaking various languages.

We woke up Friday morning and hit the town to get some brunch! We went to a restaurant called Brunch and Cake. My brunch was very interesting to say the least. It was a green bagel with mac and cheese underneath and scrambled eggs on top... surprisingly not that bad!! We finished breakfast with a large slice of oreo cake and it was SO good!

After brunch, Caroline and I took a bike tour of the city! I was pretty nervous because I am not very good at riding bikes, but it turned out really fun. The bike tour took us all over the city and to the beach. We stopped at a restaurant on the beach and it was so yummy. We also met two other girls our age from Texas, they go to UNT! It was a great way to get a feel for the city and get to see all of the monuments in one day!

We went home and showered after biking for 4 hours so we would be ready for dinner that night! For dinner we did a tapas tour and met up with about 10 other girls from our program who were also in Barcelona for the weekend. The tapas tour took us to 4 different restaurants and included a drink and tapas at each place- SO worth it and SO fun! My favorite tapa of the tour was definitely the Patatas Bravas. Patatas Bravas is kinda like french fries covered in a delicious garlic aioli. YUM!

Stay tuned for day 2!

Love,

MTW
